Terms of service

Last updated 30 October 2026

These terms cover the Kautuka software, the Kautuka website, and Devkrity-operated services used for sign-in, release information and the in-app catalogue. Kautuka runs on hardware you operate; Devkrity does not host your agents, conversations, files or run history.

1. The software and its licence

Kautuka is open-source software distributed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. The licence included with the version you use governs your rights to install, use, modify and redistribute the software. These terms do not replace or narrow rights granted by that licence. Third-party components remain subject to their own licences.

2. Your installation and accounts

You are responsible for the computer and network where Kautuka is installed, keeping its operating system and software reasonably up to date, protecting access to the appliance, and maintaining backups of information you need. If you administer a shared appliance, you are responsible for inviting and removing users and configuring shared agents and services. Each user remains responsible for their own agents and the permissions and approval settings they choose.

Use only accounts, mailboxes, files and services you are authorised to access. You are responsible for complying with the terms of Google, Microsoft, model providers, and any other services you connect.

Optional Google and Microsoft social sign-in uses the openid, email and profile scopes to authenticate your identity and link you to a Kautuka account. This is separate from mail access: social sign-in alone does not grant Kautuka permission to read or send email.

3. Connected services and email

Kautuka can connect to third-party model providers and services that you choose. To connect Gmail or Google Workspace, you authorise Kautuka through Google; its mail connector requests the gmail.modify scope. To connect Microsoft 365 mail, you authorise delegated access to the signed-in mailbox through Microsoft; its connector requests offline_access, Mail.ReadWrite, Mail.Send and User.Read. The built-in connectors can list and search mail, read messages and supported file attachments, create or update drafts, and send mail. They do not provide a message-deletion tool.

When a task uses a cloud model, you direct Kautuka to send the prompt and relevant context—including mail or attachment content you choose to use—to the model provider configured on your appliance. That provider’s terms govern its handling of the request. Review its data-use and retention practices before connecting it. You remain responsible for checking generated content and reviewing actions before they take effect. Approval requirements depend on the settings you configure.

4. Your content and activity records

You retain your rights to the prompts, files, instructions, configurations and other content you provide. Kautuka stores its working data and activity records on your appliance. Devkrity does not claim ownership of that content and does not receive it by default. Optional cloud models or connected services receive the information needed for the features you ask them to perform, under their own terms.

5. AI output and consequential actions

AI-generated responses can be incomplete, incorrect or unsuitable for your situation. Review outputs and verify important information before relying on them. Agents can perform external actions when their tools and permissions allow it. Configure approval requirements for actions you want to review, and check the run history. Kautuka’s controls do not guarantee that every action will be error-free or that a third-party service will behave as expected.

You are responsible for the instructions and data you provide, the services and tools you connect, the permissions and approval settings you choose, and deciding whether to rely on an output or allow an action to proceed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Devkrity is not responsible for decisions you make based on AI output, external actions allowed by your configuration, or the availability, conduct or data handling of third-party providers. This does not exclude or limit any liability or consumer right that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

6. Devkrity-operated services

Released builds may use auth.kautuka.io to broker supported sign-in and connector-token exchanges. Kautuka checks GitHub Releases for available releases and downloads release files from the selected release. The in-app connector and skill catalogue is served separately from the signed catalogue at kautuka.store. These hosted services do not host agent execution or run records. They may be unavailable or changed over time, and GitHub’s terms apply to its services.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Kautuka to violate another person’s rights, access accounts or data without permission, break applicable law, or interfere with the security or operation of a connected service. Do not misrepresent Kautuka’s capabilities or bypass controls imposed by a provider.

8. Warranty and liability

The open-source software is provided under the warranty disclaimer and liability terms in its Apache-2.0 licence. To the extent permitted by law, Devkrity-operated services are provided as available, without promises that they will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a right or remedy that applicable law does not allow to be excluded, restricted or modified, including any non-excludable consumer guarantee.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms when Kautuka or its services change. The published version will include an effective date. If you have a question about these terms, contact hello@devkrity.com.
